Biotourism is a form of conscious and responsible ecotourism focused on understanding, observing and conserving biodiversity. It goes beyond simply “visiting nature”: it aims to enable people to experience nature from a scientific, educational and ethical perspective, fostering respect for ecosystems and active learning about species, their interactions and the ecological and cultural values of the area.

Biotourism combines the promotion of biodiversity with environmental education, encouraging people to understand how natural systems work and what role they play in protecting them. It not only provides enjoyment, but also fosters awareness, an emotional connection and a commitment to conservation.

We offer ecotourism experiences in the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche (Huelva), focusing on appreciating biodiversity and consciously connecting with the natural environment.

Biotourism experiences

  • Ethnobotany

An interpretative trail focusing on plants that have —and have not— traditionally been used, exploring their relationship with culture and the local area.

  • Aromatic plants

An interpretative trail featuring aromatic plants and trees, where we explore their botany, therapeutic properties and uses in self-care (balms, roll-ons, etc.).

  • Lichens and moss

Workshop and brief guided tour exploring the microscopic world. Using magnifying glasses, we will discover the different types of organisms, their structures and their important ecological and environmental role.

  • Interpretative trails

On these nature trails, we highlight the area’s biodiversity and land uses. You’ll learn about the flora, fauna and landscape, as well as the features that make up this unique environment.
