In the past 9 November<\/strong> we enjoyed a ecotourism experience<\/strong> full of ancestral wisdom, encounters with centenary trees<\/strong> and a refreshing walk breathing in the fresh mountain air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban life, with its fast pace, has caused us to forget certain knowledge, our powers of observation and the deep connection we once had with the natural world. During this outing, we rediscover part of that lost connection<\/strong>: we identified native medicinal plants from the Sierra de Aracena, spotted signs of wildlife \u2014 woodpecker nests, a pupa hidden amongst the leaves \u2014 and learnt about the silent life of trees, how they communicate and cooperate with one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But above all, We got to know and felt the Casta\u00f1os<\/strong>. These majestic trees, which stand at the heart of the Nature Reserve and captivate all who behold them, revealed their history and their close relationship with humankind to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would particularly like to thank Luis<\/strong>, who opened the doors of his estate to us so that we could carry out a practical session on Tree Connection<\/strong> and to share with us his work, his dedication and his commitment as the owner of a wonderful chestnut grove. Thanks to people like him, who are deeply connected to the land and the trees, we can enjoy these centenarians<\/strong> which still provide us with shade, fruit and beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The connection with the chestnut trees enabled the group \u2014 adults and children alike \u2014 to feel at one\u2019s own pace<\/strong>, through awareness and respect. We learnt about farming, but also about listening, being present and the value of all living things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was, without a doubt, a journey that brings together science and the heart<\/strong>, knowledge and emotion, leaving a lasting impression on all of us who shared in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf30 We look after what we know<\/strong>. We want the chestnut grove to thrive, so that we can continue to enjoy these wise and generous trees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
